Dinnet & Kinord Estate

Dinnet Estate lies in the heart of Royal Deeside, almost entirely within the Cairngorms National Park area, close to Balmoral Castle and other visitor attractions.

Dinnet Estate covers 23,000 acres from the valley of the Dee up to the summit of Morven at 2,862 feet. Dinnet is an active working estate with activities ranging from salmon fishing on the river Dee, in hand and let farms, forestry, let cottages, three holiday cottages and a large area of grouse moor.

At the centre of the estate is Muir of Dinnet National Nature Reserve extending to 2,872 acres and which is one of the few privately owned nature reserves in Scotland. The nature reserve is managed by Scottish Natural Heritage with a visitor centre at the Burn O’Vat and with walks of varying distance around Lochs Kinord and Davan. Overlapping the nature reserve are two large sites of Special Scientific Interest being Muir of Dinnet and Morven and Mullachdubh extending to over 12,000 acres.

Dinnet Estate is a perfect place to explore Royal Deeside with the Deeside Way extending from Ballater to Aboyne and beyond. Aboyne Airfield is leased to Deeside Gliding Club and fields to Deeside Pony Club.
